Applying 35 Years of HIV Work to the Substance Use Epidemic: Shared Experiences and Lessons Learned
This innovative two-day conference aims to bring together staff from clinical, public health, and community based Substance Use Disorder programs and HIV teams to focus on the current state of the opioid epidemic. The wrap-around services, intensive case management, human touch, compassion, and consumer activism in the HIV epidemic helped turn the tide, and many of the lessons from HIV models can be shared to decrease stigma, promote treatment, and support caregivers and providers.
Join us for an interactive day of presentations, collaboration, and breakout groups on topics including the history of the HIV and Substance Use epidemics, harm reduction, patient and community involvement and activism, stigma, policy issues, PrEP, Hepatitis C, and dealing with loss and burnout.
