TITLE: HIV, Learning from the Patient and Provider Experience
DESCRIPTION:
1:30-2:30 pm: Lived Experience
People living with HIV will discuss their experiences living with HIV. They will address a variety of issues including dealing with a new diagnosis, disclosure, stigma, accessing medical care, and how they have adapted to living with HIV. Audience members will be encouraged to ask questions of the participants to gain greater understanding.
2:40-3:30 pm: Perspectives from Those on the Frontline
Thomas McMahon, RN, Elizabeth Eccles, RN, and Richard Zuckerman, MD will discuss their roles in the multidisciplinary team providing care to people with HIV infection. A historical perspective will be offered to provide context to current issues.
