Obesity is a complex a chronic, relapsing, multifactorial, neurobehavioral disease. We have a very limited understanding of obesity pathogenesis, despite decades of research and billions of dollars spent each year on its treatment. Patients with HIV are at higher risk of obesity based on weight promoting ART which makes managing cardiometabolic disease a challenge. This talk will discuss the newer treatment choices for obesity and current evidence gaps on treating patients with HIV and obesity.
